Dr. Dauer personally educates each and every patient to all the options available to treat their hair loss. Dr. Dauer’s consultations may utilize Hair Check, a brand new tool to measure hair mass. Dr. Dauer also uses the Proscope, a digital microscope which allows us to visualize and photograph your hair follicles on a microscopic level. These new technologies allow us not only to properly diagnose the cause of hair loss, but also to track the results from your hair loss treatments. Some of the treatments that we provide for hair loss are listed below.

Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation

This is the state of the art procedure for hair transplantation where naturally occurring follicular units are transferred from the donor region in the back and sides of the head, and moved to the areas of hair loss. Because we are transferring the hair follicles exactly as they occur in nature, this procedure allows for completely natural and undetectable results. We are also able to perform megasessions which allows up to transplant more follicles in a single session than was ever possible in the past.

Follicular Unit Extraction

This new technique allows us to harvest the hair follicles one by one with a special tool. This is in contrast to the traditional method of harvesting the hair follicles by surgically removing a thin strip of hair from the donor region. There are many advantages to this new procedure and Dr. Dauer can review them all with you in the consultation so that you may make an educated and informed decision as to which method is best for you.

For Women

Hair loss in women is very different that hair loss in men and thus women require a completely different approach to their hair loss. We routinely conduct a thorough review of medical history as well as the “haircheck” analysis and trichoscan, which includes video microscopy of the hair follicles, for our female patients. We also see many female patients with scars from other surgical procedures who require hair transplants to cover the scarred areas that are devoid of hair.

Repairative Hair Transplant Procedures

We often treat patients who have had hair transplant procedures at other facilities with inferior results. This may include repairing an unnatural hairline, revising a donor scar, or even transplanting hair into a donor scar to conceal it.

Eyebrow Transplants

Dr. Dauer was one of the first physicians in the world to transplant hair into the eyebrows. We perform this procedure very often for both men and women who have experienced loss of eyebrow hair for any one of a multitude of reasons.
